Saturday we went and explored.
My kids, are always complaining, "why do we have to go?" or "Can't I stay home?"
This time I put my foot down, with a promise of going out to eat at Dad's restaurant after our hike.
I discovered this little patch of beach quite by accident. I couldn't wait to share it with my kids. As you can see, they had a great time, and were quite sad when we had to leave! Another perk of living in Washington!

Lucky you! I have a few that would complain in your back seat too, if you want to take them for a while.

in Des Moines, the park is called Marine View Park, and it is spectacular, with a Mt. Timpanogas climb to get back to your cars.
