IT'S GREAT TO BE 8!

Although we wondered, many times, if this sweet little girl was going to make it to 8 years old, I can now say, since she is asleep, that tomorrow we get to celebrate the 8 wonderful years she has been alive! Once we discovered that Alexa wasn't like normal children, ie. walking at 8 months, having multiple broken arms and fingers by the time she was 2, screeching like no other, but instead was fiercely independant and always willing to try anything, life calmed down.

Now the independance is paying off. Through 4 elementary schools in 3 years, she continues to make friends, do well in school and as always has a smile for everyone. She even makes us smile with her insight, like, "Michael you are the best sister! Except when you want to kill me!"

Alexa, we wouldn't know what to do without you! We love you, and hope you have a spectacular birthday!
